Civil Technologies
About the Department
The department was established in 1978 and includes the construction and building branch. Students graduate from this department in large numbers as intermediate technical staff. The department handles all fieldwork, laboratory work, engineering consultations, and design preparation in the field of civil engineering through the Scientific and Consulting Services Office. The department graduates more than 40 students annually. The graduates work in several areas, most importantly: constructing buildings, irrigation and drainage channels, sewage and water systems, and roads and airports. Ten percent of the top students continue their studies at Iraqi colleges.

Department Mission
- Prepare qualified human resources, both scientifically and practically, in the field of civil engineering technologies, capable of competing in the labor market according to internationally recognized quality standards and developments in the construction and urbanization sector.
Goals
- Work on developing technical work by improving the curriculum and updating laboratories according to internationally recognized standards for good laboratories, as well as involving department staff in specialized training courses.
- Contribute to community service by organizing courses and workshops on various civil engineering applications and enhancing the construction and development movement at a high level of quality.
- Exchange theoretical and practical technical expertise with related technical institutes, colleges, and the private sector job market.
- Provide a suitable and motivating learning and training environment.
- Offer engineering and technical consultations to all government departments, institutions, and the private sector.
