The Electrical Technologies Department is one of the main technological departments at the institute. The department was established at the beginning of the institute's foundation in 1978, initially with the Electrical Installations branch. The department then developed to include two branches: Electrical Installations and Electrical Machines. With the scientific development witnessed globally in the field of communications, the Communications branch was introduced as one of the branches of the Electrical Department. In 1987, the Electrical Installations and Electrical Machines branches were merged into a single branch, Power Systems, and became an independent department, which is now the Electrical Technologies Department.
