As part of Najaf Technical Institute’s commitment to providing specialized knowledge and developing the skills of students and faculty, the institute organized a seminar titled “Brand Ownership in Business Organizations.” The seminar was presented by lecturer Dr. Dhurgham Ismail Abdul Majeed, with the participation of a select group of students and professors from the Institute’s Computing Department.
The seminar addressed the concept of branding and its importance in enhancing the identity of commercial organizations and how it contributes to building customer trust and loyalty. It also explored the importance of brand ownership in achieving competitive advantage, protecting intellectual property rights, and reducing legal violations.
The seminar included a study of strategies and methods for building a distinct brand, including market analysis, identity definition, and effective marketing. The financial and marketing benefits of brand ownership were analyzed, such as increasing a company’s market value, improving brand recognition, and attracting new customers. The legal and administrative challenges related to brand protection were also discussed, including legal threats such as counterfeiting and piracy, and how to address these challenges. Best practices in brand management from successful organizations were reviewed. At the conclusion of the seminar, participants interacted and shared their experiences on how to develop and protect brands in business organizations.
The seminar resulted in a set of important recommendations, most notably:
1) Raising awareness of the importance of branding within organizations and the need to seriously invest in building it.
2) Emphasizing the need to register and legally protect brands, and developing policies to ensure their protection from infringement.
3) Guiding organizations to develop strong marketing strategies that support the brand, using digital marketing techniques and social media.
4) Encouraging organizations to regularly update their brands in line with changes in the market and customer needs.
The Dean of the Institute, Professor Haider Al-Abdeli, emphasized the importance of these seminars in developing the skills of students and faculty and enhancing specialized knowledge. He pointed out that the topic of branding is a vital topic in the business world, and that this seminar contributed to providing a comprehensive vision on how to build and protect brands. This seminar reflects the Najaf Technical Institute’s commitment to providing a stimulating learning environment that contributes to enriching the knowledge and developing the skills of students and faculty, serving the institute’s vision of graduating qualified personnel capable of innovation and creativity in their fields of specialization.
