The Information Technology Division was established at the beginning of the founding of the Al-Najaf Technical Institute in 1978 under the name Electronic Computer Center. It is considered one of the most important divisions in the institute due to its significant impact on the institution's work in light of the technological advancements currently being witnessed globally. The division has provided many services to the institute, provincial departments, and Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, including:
•Organizing workshops and training courses in the field of computer operation, installation, and maintenance, as well as service, scientific, engineering, administrative software, and various programming systems in the field of information technology, computing, and networks.
• Designing, developing, and managing the website.
• Providing all faculty members, technicians, and students with university email accounts.
•Implementing a fiber optic cable network project, connecting all scientific departments, divisions, and units, equipping them with high-speed internet lines, and maintaining them.
•Equipping the division's laboratories with an internal network.
•Installing a camera network covering all institute buildings, connecting them to the fiber optic network, and maintaining them.
• Organizing efficiency courses and conducting exams for candidates applying for graduate studies within Iraq.
•The division serves as the center for the National Unified English Language Test (INELT). The organizational structure of the division consists of five units: the Administrative Affairs Unit, the Training and Technical Support Unit, the Computer and Network Maintenance Unit, the Website Unit, and the Systems and Software Unit. The division also includes twelve laboratories, including language labs, for student training. The Information Technology Division ensures that these laboratories are exemplary, equipped with modern devices that meet academic requirements. These labs are managed by a highly skilled and experienced technical staff.
The institute aims to be a center for outstanding scientific creativity and innovation to improve the quality of education at the university by providing an advanced technological environment and using advanced electronic programs.
The division strives for digital transformation to provide electronic services to the staff and students at the institute, which enhances the performance of the educational institution, ensures faster completion of tasks, and guarantees easy communication with everyone.

2- To work on software applications within state institutions and the private sector.
3- To develop and operate programs according to scientific and administrative departments.

5- To focus on training students using modern curricula, such as Microsoft Office 2010 programs.
6- To install and maintain communication networks.
7- To make the Information Technology Division outstanding in its field of specialization to meet the needs of society.
8- To prepare individuals with the skills required by the job market.
