The Department of Electronic and Communications Technologies at the Technical Institute / Najaf Al-Ashraf has since carried out the merger between the Department of Electronic Technologies and the Department of Communications Technologies in the year 2018 to become one department with three branches: the Computer Technologies Branch, the Communications Technologies Branch, and the Electronic Technologies Branch. It aims to prepare technical cadres capable of working in various sectors of communications and informatics, for the purpose of meeting the community’s need to work in the field of computers after they have entered various fields of life to provide services to the Al-Najaf Governorate in particular and to our beloved country, Iraq, in general. The department continues to expand its activities in scientific research, education, and scientific services. The diploma awarded by the department is obtained through a study program over two theoretical, practical and applied years.
The Department of Electronic and Communications Technologies serves society and its various institutions by adopting the technological and theoretical skills of modern communications engineering towards designing and building advanced devices and systems. Providing knowledge of electronic technologies and acquiring technical skill in operating and maintaining electronic devices, providing the necessary knowledge to deal with computer technologies in its various fields. The Department of Electronic Technologies and Communications follows a path characterized by effectiveness, efficient service, and high professional ethics.
The Department of Electronic and Communications Technologies seeks to provide distinguished educational programs in all precise specializations related to computers, communications and electronics, and is concerned with responding to the scientific and technical changes that the world is witnessing on the one hand, and responding to the requirements of the local community in this field on the other hand, and being appropriate to local development needs. And regional, as well as preparing distinguished scientific cadres in performance that contribute to transferring technology to society and keeping pace with national development requirements.
