Dental Technology Students Raise the Slogan “No to Drugs” in an Awareness Initiative at Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical

The Dental Technology Department in the evening studies at the Najaf Technical Institute organized a comprehensive awareness workshop on the dangers of drug abuse, in the first stage lecture hall. The workshop was attended by a group of specialized professors, including Dr. Amjad Al-Khatib, Head of the Dental Technology Department, and M.M. Salah Mahdi.

The two lecturers gave a comprehensive presentation of the reasons for the spread of this destructive phenomenon, and its negative impact on the health of users and on society as a whole. The lecturers emphasized the legal aspects related to drug abuse, in addition to presenting a set of effective solutions and methods to prevent and treat addiction.
Dean of the Institute, Prof. Dr. Al-Abdali, said, “Education is the most powerful weapon to confront challenges such as drug addiction. I am pleased to see the Department of Dental Industry doing its part in educating our students about the dangers of this phenomenon. This workshop is a living example of the importance of integrating awareness programs into the educational process.” At the end of the workshop, educational brochures were distributed that included clear warning messages to the students, along with motivating phrases urging them to challenge difficulties and overcome psychological problems that may push them to try drugs. The students and their professors also raised the victory sign with their fingers, expressing their determination to combat this social scourge and stand together against it. This initiative comes within the framework of the Department of Dental Industry’s keenness to educate students about the dangers of drugs, and provide them with the necessary knowledge to make sound decisions to protect themselves and their community
